July 12, 2026, Yinchuan — The 3rd International Conference on Image Processing, Machine Learning, and Pattern Recognition (IPMLP 2026) came to a successful close at the Hyatt Place Yinchuan Yuecaicheng. Hosted by North Minzu University and organized by its School of Computer Science and Engineering, the conference brought together experts and scholars from top domestic universities—including Zhejiang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Nanjing University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Beihang University—as well as international scholars from Greece, Poland, France, and Australia. Together, they discussed the latest research advancements and future application prospects in the fields of image processing, machine learning, and pattern recognition.

Agenda Review: A Feast of Academic Thought

The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Zhou Tao from North Minzu University. In his welcoming address, Professor Bao Wenxing, Vice President of North Minzu University, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and scholars, emphasizing the profound significance of intelligent vision technology in driving social progress. Subsequently, Researcher Hu Yuxin, Vice President of the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered an address at the launch ceremony of the special issue of the 2025 Development Report on Image and Graphics.

The morning plenary session focused on in-depth analyses of cutting-edge technologies, creating a rich academic atmosphere.

  • Professor Liu Yue (Beijing Institute of Technology) explored efficient intrinsic image acquisition methods applied to VR/AR digital paintings.

  • Professor Li Xi (Zhejiang University) elaborated on the generation of image and video world models based on multimodal representations.

The afternoon parallel sessions showcased the vitality and depth of the new generation of researchers.

During the Young Scientists Forum, scholars from institutions including Yunnan University, Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Jiangnan University, and Tongji University took the stage one by one. They shared brilliant insights on hot topics such as adaptive image fusion, progress in continuous learning, multimodal visual fusion, and efficient dataset distillation.

In the Oral Presentation Forum, young scholars from North Minzu University, Ningxia University, The University of Hong Kong, and Beijing University of Technology presented their latest research findings in specific areas such as semantic segmentation, object detection, image fusion, and instance segmentation. The presentations covered a broad spectrum from fundamental algorithms to industry applications, facilitating deep interaction among the attendees.

With the closing ceremony held on the afternoon of July 12, IPMLP 2026 officially drew to a close. Through high-level plenary talks, active parallel session discussions, and extensive poster presentations, this conference provided a high-quality academic platform for researchers in related fields.
